In a randomized pilot study, we explored the impact of a lactobacillus-based treatment on pain severity in women diagnosed with endometriosis. Thirty-seven participants who hadn’t undergone hormonal therapy recently were given either lactobacillus capsules or placebo for eight weeks.
After the treatment, we observed a notable reduction in pain scores, especially in dysmenorrhea and overall pain, among those taking lactobacillus compared to the placebo group. Granted, while there were some beneficial effects, the impact varied individually, highlighting the need for further studies in this area.

Probiotics may aid dysmenorrhea
The role of probiotics in improving menstrual health in women with primary dysmenorrhoea: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (the PERIOD study).
We explored whether three months of probiotic supplementation could enhance the quality of life for women with primary dysmenorrhea. In a randomized, double-blind study, 72 participants were split to receive either probiotics or a placebo.
While we observed some improvements in mental health and a potential decrease in painkiller usage, there was no notable change in inflammatory markers. This suggests that probiotics may have some benefits, yet larger studies are necessary to fully understand their impact.

As I'm trying to conceive, I learned that uterine flora can influence implantation, prompting me to order this product due to excessive vaginal discharge lately. I began taking it after my period and noticed a dramatic decrease in discharge immediately. My stomach feels better, my nasal congestion improved, and importantly, I no longer experience any pain from my uterus. This demonstrates how vital uterine flora can be, and I plan to continue this during pregnancy.
Pelvic pain is a broad term that describes discomfort occurring in the lower abdomen or pelvic region. It can stem from various underlying conditions, involving reproductive organs, the urinary tract, or gastrointestinal issues. Common causes include menstrual cramps, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, and urinary tract infections. Additionally, pelvic pain can be acute, occurring suddenly and sharply, or chronic, lasting for six months or more, significantly impacting one’s quality of life.
Managing pelvic pain often begins with a thorough evaluation from a healthcare provider to determine the underlying causes. Treatment options can vary widely based on the diagnosis and may include medication for pain relief, physical therapy, lifestyle changes, or, in some cases, surgery. Lifestyle adjustments, such as heat therapy and relaxation techniques, can also provide relief. Given the diverse nature of pelvic pain, it’s essential for individuals experiencing persistent discomfort to consult a medical professional for an accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment plan.
Lactobacillus is a genus of bacteria that plays a crucial role in the fermentation of various foods and is found naturally in the human gut. Known for their probiotic properties, strains of Lactobacillus are commonly utilized in the production of yogurt, sauerkraut, and other fermented products. They are characterized by their rod-shaped structure and ability to convert sugars into lactic acid, which not only helps preserve food but also contributes to the tangy flavor of fermented foods.
In addition to their culinary uses, Lactobacillus bacteria can offer several health benefits. They are known to support gut health by enhancing the balance of beneficial bacteria in the microbiome, potentially aiding in digestion and alleviating symptoms of issues like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Regular consumption of Lactobacillus-containing foods or supplements may also bolster the immune system and improve overall digestive health. With a growing interest in gut health, Lactobacillus remains a key player in both dietary and therapeutic contexts.
Based on user reviews, the timeframe for seeing results from this supplement for pelvic pain varies, with many users reporting significant improvements within a week of consistent use. For instance, one user noted remarkable improvement within just seven days of taking the supplement alongside beneficial bacteria, alleviating their inflammation and pain Read Review. Similarly, another user experienced almost immediate relief from pain associated with gynecological deficiencies, feeling better within a day Read Review.
Others found that it may take longer, with some reporting noticeable effects after two weeks or even several months of use. For example, one user mentioned a significant decrease in discomfort after a two-week regimen Read Review. Ultimately, while many users experience quick results, individual experiences can vary significantly, suggesting that patience and continued use may be essential for the product to be fully effective.
The research surrounding the use of probiotics, specifically lactobacillus, for pelvic pain presents some promising findings, albeit with the caveat that further studies are needed. One study focused on the use of lactobacillus supplementation in women suffering from endometriosis revealed a notable reduction in pain scores, particularly relating to dysmenorrhea and overall pelvic pain, when compared to a placebo group [2]. This suggests that lactobacillus may provide some relief for those experiencing pelvic pain due to endometriosis, which could be a beneficial option for individuals seeking alternative treatments.
Conversely, another study investigating the effects of probiotics on menstrual health in women with dysmenorrhea found improvements in mental health and potential decreases in painkiller usage, but no significant impact on inflammatory markers [1]. This indicates a partial effectiveness of probiotics but also highlights the necessity for larger, more comprehensive studies to better evaluate their true benefits in managing pelvic pain. Overall, while there is some support for the use of probiotic supplementation for pelvic pain, particularly with lactobacillus, more rigorous research is essential to confirm these findings and determine the optimal applications for those suffering from such conditions.
According to user reviews, many individuals have reported notable improvements in symptoms after using this probiotic supplement. Additionally, many users have expressed satisfaction in overcoming chronic issues such as urinary tract infections, menstrual pain, and even conditions like cystitis. One user reported a marked decrease in lower abdominal pain after two months Read Review, while another mentioned their long-standing vaginal discomfort improved significantly Read Review. However, individual results can differ, with some users not experiencing substantial changes in their symptoms, thus highlighting the variability in effectiveness across different users Read Review.
Based on user reviews, many individuals have successfully combined this probiotic supplement with others to address pelvic pain. For instance, one user reported significant relief from a gynecological condition by using this supplement alongside Swanson's Gaseli, noting improvement in their ability to walk normally after weeks of discomfort Read Review. Another user experienced reduced burning sensations and improved immunity issues when combining this probiotic with other supplements tailored for menstrual discomfort Read Review. This suggests that combining it with targeted products may enhance the overall effectiveness.
However, not all users have found the same success with combinations. A few reported that while taking this supplement helped with specific symptoms, the addition of other supplements didn't significantly change their experience, indicating that individual responses can vary Read Review. Overall, while some users see substantial benefits from combining this probiotic with other products, the effectiveness may depend on personal health conditions and the specific supplements used.

Others reported that consistent daily use seemed crucial for achieving and maintaining relief.
